Synapse was created by the MCA Foundation in 2010. IMPACT

Synapse has become a communications vehicle that fills a critical communications gap that had existed among bioscience institutions and care providers on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.  This gap had long been identified by organizations such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission.
