Texas Tech officials announced this morning that Paul Foster is donating $50 million to the planned Texas Tech four-year medical school in El Paso. Paul Foster is the president and CEO of El Paso company Western Refining. Texas legislators this year approved funding to hire staff and faculty at the school, and the first class of four-year medical students is set to begin in August 2009. The school will be named after Paul Foster, Texas Tech officials announced today. Lawmakers initially approved expanding the two-year medical campus into a four-year school in 2003.
